About “Why Soy?”
In addition to the dangers of “soot” from paraffin candles, it is now known that some candles made in China, Mexico, and the U.S. have lead wicks. According to a study in 1999, at a School of Public Health in Michigan, these candles emit from .5 to 327 micrograms of lead PER HOUR!! The Environmental Protection Agency recommends 1.5 micrograms of lead as the maximum per hour before it is deemed poisonous.
“Lead poisoning remains one of the most serious environmental health diseases in this country, and other parts of the world.”It can affect various organs in our body, including the central nervous ,cardiovascular ,and blood systems.
We all need to “Go Green”, to protect our home environment by switching to Soy candles, and candles with cotton and paper wicks.
